This song originally began as a piano melody that I loved to play. When I began writing lyrics, imagining a phone call between two lovers, I realised this was my version of the famous Notting Hill "I'm just a girl standing in front of a boy asking him to love me" scene. In the production, I loved the idea of letting the melody that started the piece have it's own space with swelling, dream-like interludes between the verses.
